Andy Kinsman
...info, pics and gig list for Jazz Saxophonist, Andy Kinsman
Bristol-born Saxophonist, Andy Kinsman has, quite simply, a remarkable talent. In addition to playing saxophone, Andy is a celebrated artist, gaining national and international acclaim for his work in Photo Realism. His musical flair was realised at the age of 6 when he started playing the piano and then in later years progressed onto clarinet and flute. It wasn't until he was in his mid 20's that he took up the saxophone. Since then however, he has more than made up for lost time, and is forging a noteworthy name for himself on the British and European jazz scene.
Andy's influences include Stan Getz, Michael Brecker and Dexter Gordon; players with whom he is often compared. His melodic and breathy solos, combined with sensitive and lyrical fills make Andy a popular choice amongst many jazz musicians including Claire Teal, Beth Rowley and Andy Sheppard. He is very much a familiar face on the Live jazz circuit in both Bristol, his home town, and in London, playing in various clubs and festivals including Ashton Court, the Harbourside (Bristol) and the Queen's Square Jazz Festival
Having recently returned from a stint in Europe, playing in France and Italy, Andy is looking forward to recording a new album, due for realease in 2007.
